Overview

Kojonup racecourse is located 260km southeast of Western Australia’s capital city Perth.

Racing began in Kojonup in 1875, with the first picnic races held at Farrar. It then moved to its current location, Wandecla, which is 30km west of the town.

The track is managed by the Kojonup Polo & Polocrosse Club, which is over 70 years old. The club runs the Kojonup Race Club, which is made up of volunteers who put on the annual race meeting.

This meeting is held in February each year and was originally a picnic race meeting before formally being recognised as a country race meeting. The club has also recently undergone renovations including to its bar area, which now provides shade from the summer sun.

The day is well supported by locals and visitors, being filled with free kid’s entertainment, Dash for Cash, Fashions on the Field, live music and camping facilities, showcasing true country racing at its best.
