This Saturday night sees the running of the $50,000 James Brennan Memorial at Gloucester Park. Shockwave, above, defeated Chicago Bull in a thrilling edition of the race last year. Get The Last Word for the nine races below.

RACE 1 – NOVA 93.7 PACE

  1. Kyle Harper (CAMLUCK KING): “Back in the stable of Group 1 Linda. Should improve. Perfect draw. Each-way.”
  2. Emily Suvaljko (JOEY JAMES): “Has named himself as a bridesmaid recently. Hoping to go one better this week.”
  3. Dylan Egerton-Green (LORD ROSCO): “Back to his more favoured distance and will be fitter.”
  4. Gary Hall Snr (COPY N PACE): “I’d like to think he can win. He will drop in and Lord Rosco or Joey James will lead. If he can be in the running line he’s a place chance.”

  4. Emily Suvaljko (THE WHITE RABBIT): “Can rattle off some good sectionals. Not an overly strong field.”

  2. Greg Bond (WAINUI CREEK): “Looks a good draw for her. Expect her to be in the finish.”
  3. Shannon Suvaljko (QUEEN SHENANDOAH): “Just needs the right run in the race to be dangerous.”
  4. Aiden De Campo (MANDY JOAN): “I torched her a few starts ago burning off the gate. Her last run was nearly back to her best. The two horse looks hard to beat if she finds the front. I think she will run another good race.”
  5. Chris Voak (STAR OF DIAMONDS): “Gallant effort last start. Has the talent to overcome the barrier.”
  6. Chris Lewis (SOHO PARTY GIRL): “It won’t be easy. Place chance at best.”

  1. Aldo Cortopassi (MAGNIFICENT STORM): “Use the gate to our advantage. He has very good gate speed when it's needed. Looks a good race for him."
  2. Shannon Suvaljko (BRACKEN SKY): “Good draw for him to run a place.”
  3. Emily Suvaljko (VESPA): “Will ask Aldo to throw the tow rope out.”
  4. Cody Wallrodt (BABYFACE ADDA): “Asking too much of him first-up. Will dive hard for the fence and take a lot of benefit from the run.”

RACE 9 – NOVA 93.7 3YO FILLIES PACE

  1. Aiden De Campo (SONGKRAN): “It was a good effort first-up. She’s probably a touch outclassed against a few of those better fillies but barrier one keeps us in the race. She should be on the rail somewhere leaders back or three-back.”
  2. Donald Harper (OUR STAR BILLING): “I think I’ll make the front. Probably will lead. Always An Angel is the horse to beat so we will have to see what she does. Plan is to go forward and hold initially.
  3. Callan Suvaljko (SILVER STAR LOMBO): “Went well last start. Will drive to get her home late as well.”
  4. Emily Suvaljko (SHELLNA): “Been told she’s working well. Will know more after this race.”
