Racing WA has announced plans for altered race times at Ascot Racecourse on November 25 due to forecast hot weather.
In line with well-established hot weather policies, the contingency plan for Railway Stakes Day is:
- Race 1 will be abandoned. A RTG 66+ Handicap 2100m will be added to the race program for next Saturday, 2 December.
- Race 2 will become the first race of meeting and start at 3.00pm AWST.
- Race 3 will start at 3.30pm AWST.
- Races 4-9 will proceed as originally advertised.
If there is a favourable change in the forecast, the full program of races will proceed:
- Race 1 will start at 2.30pm AWST.
- Race 2 will start at 3.00pm AWST.
- Race 3 will start at 3.30pm AWST.
- Races 4-9 will proceed as originally advertised.
Racing WA will continue to monitor the forecast today and a final decision will be made at 7am tomorrow, following a scheduled call with the Bureau of Meteorology Duty Forecaster.
