Do you want to Own The Dream?
Racing WA’s ultimate racehorse ownership competition – where you and your mates can win a share in a racehorse from the upcoming Magic Millions Perth Yearling Sale – is back for 2024.
Ambassador Brittany Taylor will once again host this year’s Own The Dream, which features four free and unique events:
- February 2: Pearce Racing stable tour
- February 4: Lynward Park Stud and Yarradale Stud tours
- February 10: Breakfast with WA’s leading trainers
- February 22: Grand Final
Racing WA Chief Racing Officer David Hunter said Own The Dream focused on attracting new owners to thoroughbred racing, while shining a light on different facets of the racing world.
“We are committed to growing racehorse ownership in Western Australia and Own The Dream is a fun and exciting campaign which does exactly that,” he said.
“Own The Dream not only fosters camaraderie among racing enthusiasts but also provides a gateway for people unfamiliar with racing to get involved.
“We’ve already seen how Own The Dream can take participants on a thrilling journey, with previous participants joining the ownership group of Group 2 Karrakatta Plate and Group 3 WA Sires’ Produce Stakes winner Super Smink.”
The behind-the-scenes tours of Dan and Ben Pearce’s stables, Lynward Park Stud and Yarradale Stud are fascinating, while the trainers’ breakfast allows racing newcomers to witness early morning trackwork at Ascot Racecourse for a glimpse into the meticulous preparation that goes into transforming a thoroughbred into a racing athlete.
The competition peaks with the grand final on February 22 on the opening day of the Magic Millions Perth Yearling Sale.
Three teams will claim vouchers to be used towards a Westspeed Platinum yearling at the sales, highlighted by the $20,000 first place prize bundle.
