Racing WA Community Fund Announces First Grant Round

20 June 2024

Grants of up to $5000 are now available through the Racing WA Community Fund for groups or organisations that are making a meaningful difference in their communities.

The grants, aimed at animal or community-related programs and sustainability projects, will be available to initiatives closely connected to one of WA’s 47 race clubs.

Racing and Wagering Western Australia CEO Ian Edwards said he was excited to take the next step in strengthening the positive impact of the Racing WA Community Fund.

“Since launching the Fund nine months ago, we have joined forces with the Blue Tree Project and Solaris Cancer Care – two powerful allies in combatting challenges relating to mental health and accessing cancer care in regional and remote communities,” Ian said.

“The upcoming grant rounds will allow us to contribute to even more meaningful programs that make a real difference.

“In this grant round, we are looking for projects that make significant positive contributions to their community, whether it's enhancing wellbeing, supporting animal welfare or promoting sustainability.”

The first grant round will accept applications from community groups and projects that operate within a town connected to a race club in the Kimberley, Pilbara, Gascoyne, Wheatbelt or Mid West regions.

The second grant round, which will open later this year, will take applications from the Goldfields-Esperance, Peel, South West and Great Southern regions.

The first grant round is now open and will close on Friday, 9 August at 5pm.
