Star WA pacer Never Ending has drawn the outside barrier for Saturday’s $2.1 million Eureka (2300m) at Menangle.
Under the preferential conditions of the barrier draw, Never Ending had to draw outside barrier four.
Three-year-olds Fighter Command and Bay Of Biscay drew barrier one and two respectively, while mares Major Delight and Eye Keep Smiling will start from barrier three and four respectively.
While he drew barrier 14, Never Ending will come into barrier 10 after scratchings.
Gary Hall Jnr will drive the Justin Prentice-trained four-year-old in the event.
Hall Jnr said he wasn’t concerned by the draw.
“I’m happy enough, considering it’s the outside draw,” Hall Jnr told Racing WA Harness.
“He’s had the practice run there, so we are ready to go one better.”
Never Ending stormed home to finish second to Major Moth at Menangle last month in his final run before the Eureka.
The son of Sweet Lou will race in the Soho Standardbreds slot.
High Above and Sure Thing Captain secured the final two slots in the Eureka over the weekend.
