A big crowd turn out for the Great Global Greyhound Walk

Amazing turn out for the Great Global Greyhound Walk

1 October 2024

Thanks to everyone who came down to Neil McDougall Park in Como on Sunday and joined the Greyhounds As Pets (GAP) team for this year's Great Global Greyhound Walk.

The day was a big success, with lovely weather and 115 four-legged friends turning up for the stroll.

The walk was a part of a global effort and will contribute to an international tally of sighthounds that took part, last year the count was 11,818.

It was a great way to spark conversation about adoption with people who had come down without a greyhound to take part in the walk.

The walk provided a great opportunity for everyone to connect, owners and greyhounds, and to spread the message of animal welfare through the Greyhounds as Pets program.

Visit the GAP website to find out more about the program and how you can adopt or foster a greyhound.
