Day 3 of the Ascot Pinnacles continues on Saturday with the running of the Tabtouch-Northerly Stakes.

NORTHERLY STAKES OVERVIEW

The race was renamed the Northerly Stakes in 2022.

The first iteration of the race was first staged in 1976 and won by Family Of Man, trained by George Hanlon and ridden by David Brosnan.

Notable winners include Old Comrade (2000-01), Summer Beau (1996-97), Better Loosen Up (1989), Vo Rogue (1988), Kingston Town (1982), Stormy Rex (1977) and Playing God (2010-11),

There have been five multiple winners of the race: Family Of Man (1976-78), Summer Beau (1996-97), Old Comrade (2000-01), Niconero (2006-08) and Playing God (2010-11).

It has held Group 1 status since 1979.
