WIN OF THE DAY
Things didn’t go her way in the Miss Andretti Stakes when an unlucky third, but Twain’s Angel made amends in a big way by taking out the Listed Scenic Blast Stakes, leading the charge to run down the pacesetter, Norich. The Toronado mare, from the yard of Sean and Jake Casey, returned to the winner’s enclosure for the first time since winning the opening six races of her career, the previous at Belmont last June.
HORSES TO FOLLLOW
It wasn’t the best of starts for Da Generals Son in the opener, but wow, it was the perfect ending. He gave a hint of what was to come in a couple of encouraging trials and delivered on race day in a big way, charging to the line from behind the speed. There’s obvious improvement to come, but clearly the son of Snippetson is a talent with plenty of upside.
Deel Her In mapped to be near last but finished stoutly in a strong race with depth. The winner Rock ‘N’ The Jam goes ok too.
The Scenic Blast Stakes map was always tricky for Man Crush, who found himself in the uncustomary role of back marker but although never a winning threat, he was climbing over the top of them late for second. Racing well. The Cyril Flower next.

Da Generals Son was brilliant on debut, matching the efforts of Playing God three-year-old Snow God a fortnight back to give David Harrison a couple of above average types ahead of the Magic Millions races at Pinjarra.
Magic Whistle is appreciating his new environment, getting up in a three-way thriller and capping a top week for Misty Bazeley after the win of Derby-bound three-year-old Maxwhooshtapin at Pinjarra on Thursday.
Grant and Alana Williams keep churning out the winners, the latest Sensessional, a four-year-old who loves the mile and is going places. He put the writing on the wall first up and once Clint Johnston-Porter got him out of a tight jam at the top of the straight he hit top gear and with powerful acceleration he was able to get over the top of Ginger Green who ran his heart out in front.

Madi Derrick has built up a great association with Twain’s Angel and gave the four-year-old every conceivable chance of winning the Listed Scenic Blast Stakes with a flawless ride, taking bad luck out of the equation and a repeat of the Miss Andretti Stakes when she angled off the fence before the corner.
Miss Flirtatious got up to win in the last bound, thanks largely to Chris Parnham who got urgent over the final 200m. He followed up later with progressive four-year-old Bold Hero, a winner second up over 1800m and undefeated this preparation before finding the gaps with a classy ride on Memory Parade.
