Pacing For Pink Back For 2025

Pacing for Pink is back for 2025 and WA has a record 26 drivers donning the pink pants and doing their part to raise funds and awareness for breast cancer and the McGrath Foundation.

In 2024, WA had a total of 22 drivers take part in the Pacing for Pink initiative, raising an incredible $150,000 across Australia in the month of May.

Pacing for Pink came to light in 2011, with Marg Watson creating an event at the Cobram Harness Racing Club where gate sales and funds raised at the club’s dinner went directly to the McGrath Foundation.

The initiative crossed the Nullarbor and entered WA in 2020 with the help of Kath Harris and Kiara Davies, who had undergone her own battle with stage 3 breast cancer, getting the ‘all clear’ in September that same year.

“I came across the sea of pink on Sky Racing over east and I wondered why we didn’t have the same in WA.

“I contacted Kath Harris who took it upon herself to make this possible for me.

“The support and commitment from everyone in the industry is very overwhelming and it makes me proud to see the sea of pink in WA, supporting those affected by this horrid illness.” Kiara Davies said.

WA will paint the track pink this Friday night, May 2 at both Gloucester Park and Northam, with 22 of the 26 sponsored drivers donning their pink pants on opening night.
