
The Dylan Egerton-Green, Justin Prentice, Aiden De Campo and Greg and Skye Bond stables have enjoyed a successful Pearl Classic heat night at Gloucester Park.
Each of the trainers qualified multiple runners for Friday week’s $50,000 final.
The Bond stable struck first with Belly Up, who finished runner-up in the Pearl Classic as a two-year-old last year, comfortably won the opening heat of the night in 1:56.6.
Elite Fleet and Major Disco filled the minor placings behind Belly Up for Prentice and De Campo respectively, while Mysta Moon Walker was fourth.
Prentice won the second and third heats of the evening with Paint The Palette and Im Massimo respectively to bring his representation in the final to three.
Paint The Palette made a sustained run from the rear of the field to narrowly defeat Seaside Magic in 1:59.1.
Pick Me and Captain Paprika finished third and fourth respectively.
Im Massimo held off a game Captain Stirling in the final heat of the evening in 1:56.4, with The Bettor Side and When In Vegas also qualifying for the final.
Meanwhile, Jemma Hayman also enjoyed a training double on the card, with Petes Honour and Malakie winning races on the second half of the card.
