Some aspiring Free-For-All pacers are set to clash in tomorrow night’s Manea Classic (2100m) at Bunbury.
Alta Tribute, Lusaka and Im The Black Flash are among seven runners in tomorrow night’s event that featured in the 4&5YO Championship (2130m) at Gloucester Park earlier this month.
Four-year-old’s Pete’s Honour, Franco Encore and Alta Tribute have drawn kindly in barrier one, two and three respectively.
Skylou, Penny Black and Lusaka are the other runners on the front line.
Rolling Fire, Gully Gum and Im The Black Flash are the three runners on the back line.
Lusaka enters tomorrow night’s $30,000 event hoping to end a frustrating run of placings in feature races.
The Greg and Skye Bond-trained pacer has been placed in the 4YO Championship, 4YO Classic, Golden Nugget and the 4&5YO Championship over the past six months.
Co-trainer Greg Bond said he expected Lusaka to be in the finish again tomorrow night.
“It’s a great field,” Bond told TABradio.
“It’s a little tricky from out there with what we do early.
“We will probably sit him up and use his speed in the last circuit.
“It’s a race that he’s definitely top three all day long.”
Franco Encore finished 10th behind Alta Tribute in the 4&5YO Championship but has drawn favourably in barrier two tomorrow night.
Trainer Ryan Bell said he hoped Franco Encore could capitalise on the draw and figure prominently in the event.
“If the real Franco Encore turns up, he can definitely run in the top four,” Bell told Racing WA Harness.
“I just don’t know which one is going to turn up.
“I do think he gets around Bunbury a lot better than he does Gloucester Park and Pinjarra.
“I’m happy with him, I just don’t trust him.”
Tomorrow night’s Manea Classic gets underway at 8.06.
