A change of stable, a new environment, outstanding winning results.
Dirty Chai is on fire and hasn’t looked back since joining Jackie Scott’s Dongara team
In a purple-patch of form, Dirty Chai will look to carry that momentum into Sunday’s $30,000 Family Fun Day Minilya Sprint (1200m) at Carnarvon.
Dirty Chai did her racing previously under Perth brothers Dan and Ben Pearce, but in lesser grade has flourished and remains unbeaten since her transfer.
Dirty Chai made a dream start for Scott when she led and won on her home track at Dongara by a whopping seven lengths, putting paid to her rivals with ease.
She then won at Geraldton, made it a hat-trick at Carnarvon before bringing up the quartet at Bunbury, all wins out in front and all wins by healthy margins.
Despite her hot winning streak, Scott talks down her role in Dirty Chai’s resurgence, believing it’s nothing more than a happy horse who has found her niche.
“I think she’s just enjoying what she’s doing,” Scott said to Racing WA.
“We do a lot of beach work, bush work, a lot of variety.
“She’s just a happy horse at the moment.
“She’s gone to lesser company too, so has more confidence,
“She’s just a happy horse at the moment.
“Five in a row would be nice, but I’m pretty happy with four in a row.
“We’ll see how she goes, but we’re pretty confident.
“She’s racing well.”
Dirty Chai carries 58kg with the claim of Nakita Riordan and in a field of 10 starters jumps from barrier two.
Riordan has a great chance to land her biggest win in the saddle since commencing her apprenticeship in April.
“She’s riding really well, Nakita,” Scott said.
“She’s doing a good job and it gives her an opportunity.
“That will give her a bit of a buzz as well.”
