What is a memorable moment or experience that confirmed your passion for horse racing?

There were plenty of special moments growing up, but one that really stands out is the 2019 Perth Cup. I was the only one who went to the races with Dad that day, and he won on Star Exhibit at $31. The feeling after a big win in the mounting yard is unmatched, and I was so happy I got to share that moment with him. The ride that Group 1 winning mare Delicacy took our family on was also something special, though I was younger then. I’ve always loved horses and knew I wanted to stay involved and give back to the sport that’s given so much to my family.

What is your favourite track to cover, and why?

Broome has always been special to me and my family. It already held great memories, so getting to have my first day hosting on Racing WA TV in Broome made it even more meaningful. The atmosphere is always amazing, and with the red dirt and ocean backdrop at Gantheaume Point, it’s easily one of the most beautiful tracks in the world.

What’s one of the most memorable interviews you’ve conducted with a jockey, trainer, or industry figure?

Interviewing champion jockey James McDonald before his Railway Stakes ride aboard Light Infantry Man was a real highlight, especially with him being crowned the Longines World’s Best Jockey the following day.
