Rules of Racing

In accordance with Section 45 of the RWWA Act 2003, the board of Racing and Wagering WA has approved the adoption of the rules of racing for the three codes.

These Rules, based upon the previous Rules of the WATC, are comprised of both National and Local Rules and came into effect as of 1 August 2004.

Various refinements to the Rules have been made in order to provide for consistency across the codes, and reflect the responsibilities RWWA has to the regulation of the sports under its control.

National Rules of Racing are under the control of respective peak National bodies and are adopted by RWWA through Gazettal upon notice of amendment or enactment from these organisations.

The Local Rules of Racing are directly under the control of RWWA and are approved through the Integrity Assurance Committee (IAC) prior to Gazettal and adoption.
